It has always been said that Kyokushinkai is the toughest in this aspect... is it true?

We know that the low kick is a punch that we work on a lot in our regular training sessions. We believe that creating a competition for this could have a lot of impact in these times of fast formats. Nowadays, the public does not usually see complete competitions, only the summary and the KO. The clearest example is the Power slap, which is now a world professional competition.

If you are a traditional martial artist, these formats may seem very geeky to you, but it is a way for fighters who are at a good level but have some kind of injury, as is my case in my hand, or simply do not have the necessary funds or time to participate in a full championship, to be able to continue competing with the desire to train with extra enthusiasm.

It is not necessary to have physical fitness, feline reflexes, or weight reduction, just strong legs, ONLY LOW KICK.

These will be fights agreed by weights between two fighters until one decides to retire. The winner will receive a medal, a prize and will be announced on the website as the rival to beat. The loser will receive a participation medal.

The events will "in principle" be held without an audience, only guests, competitors and companions.

Images and videos will be uploaded to social media, and can be downloaded and viewed online.

* If you want to participate in this event, please note that we want it to be a championship that respects the values ​​of traditional martial arts. Respect for the opponent and the organization in general is very important. Egos, envy and offensive language must be kept outside the venue.

Low kicks can only be given to the inner or outer thigh, always above the knee. Internal low kicks must be agreed between the fighters. In case one of the two does not want to, only external kicks will be given because we understand that internal kicks have a much higher chance of injury. The intention is to give a good show, if possible without injuries. Low kicks can only be given to the shin or instep. Strikes with the heel or similar are not allowed. If you give a blow considered illegal, the opponent has the possibility of deciding not to continue and will be considered the winner of the fight. We understand that a martial artist should be able to control the direction of his blows in a static fight. The referee will toss a coin and the fighters will have to choose heads or tails. The one who gets it right will go first. The front foot of the fighters must be within its corresponding colored zone. The back foot must be separated from the front foot in a "guard" position. The striker has a certain amount of room to move, as long as he is within his colored zone, to be able to turn his foot around. The striker cannot lift the foot that is going to be hit, you can only make a movement to tighten the zone, tensing your thigh and turning it slightly. The striker can choose the leg and zone he wants to hit, the inner or outer thigh of the opponent's forward leg. If you choose the leg that is behind your opponent, he will simply have to change his guard and put the chosen leg in the colored zone. The blows will alternate between the fighters until one decides not to continue and withdraws. If you decide to abandon the fight, it will always have to be before giving your next blow. Before the fights, the rules will be explained to the fighters on site.

There will be 5 weight categories: Male and female.

• Up to 60 kg

• Over 60 kg up to 70 kg

• Over 70 kg up to 80 kg

• Over 80 kg up to 90 kg

• More than 90 kg

Weighing will take place before the competition, so it is important that participants register for their real category.

If the fighter is over the previously agreed weight, he will automatically lose the fight and your opponent will be declared the winner.

Each fighter will be notified of the dates of the events and of the possible opponents in his weight class in order to arrange fights.

The reserves the right to make some weight class adjustments in the organization pairings, if the competition so requires, always with prior notice and with the consent of the participant.

The fights will be without protection, so the fighters can participate in their kimono or usual clothing for practicing their martial art, as long as it does not give them an advantage over their opponent. The diversity of the costumes will make the spectacle more striking.

The referee will be in charge of reviewing compliance with the rules.

All participants must be of legal age and in good physical and health condition.

All participants must fill out a “Declaration of fitness for physical activity”, which states that they are in good health to participate in sports competitions.

If the “Declaration” results in any negative result, the wrestler will be prohibited from participating in the event. The “ Responsibility Waiver Sheet

” prepared by the organization, available for download on the website, must also be filled out . If you cannot download it, we will have copies at the venue. These documents must be completed by the wrestler before the event.

The Registration fees for Low Kick Championship India Chapter 1 is INR 3500/- and it is non refundable.
